Hi Sisters! Through the pandemic I’ve relied heavily on listening to music that speaks to me. It has helped me immensely while in the throes of my post-partum depression. I struggled with containing my frustration, anger, and resentment. I was always SO tired! I struggled with relating to the baby I fought so hard to have. Music and my community of fellow moms helped keep me grounded so I could make it through. 💕 I‘m constantly listening to music that chills me out or that makes me sing or dance along. Music that fills something in me and fills a part of my soul. Music that makes me happy. I’m always on the hunt for new songs or artists! I listen while working, gardening, driving, cooking, or when I DIY. 🎶 We play music on a speaker when I’m watering the garden and my toddler is playing on the back patio. Wireless headphones were the best purchase I made during the pandemic... and I ordered A BUNCH of stuff while we were all stuck at home! 🤣 🎧 How do you use music in relation to your emotions? Did you know that music has an effect on our brains?! https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/science-choice/201908/music-emotion-and-well-being How do you listen to music? Do you play an instrument or sing? Do you have playlists for your moods? Happy, sad, angry, or energized? 🙂😭😡😃 Do you have different playlists for each activity? Like exercising, showering, focusing on work/school work, sleeping, etc.? 🏃‍♀️🚿🧐😴 Do you listen to music to match your emotions, or do you listen to opposing types to help change your mood? I've just started a new playlist on Spotify for us all to collaborate on! 😊 “Go and Grow” https://open.spotify.com/playlist/06hCkI8SiFDUahrKeNs14J?si=D_vZeKZzRuyJ_pnIcx4bQg Go take a listen and add some of your favorite songs with positive messages. Don’t worry if it’s not exactly your cup of tea yet! We’ll venture out to other genres as we go! This first playlist is for uplifting or contemplative music with good messages. Music to pause and reflect to, music to empower us as people and more importantly, empower us as women. I’m so excited and can’t wait to hear what you’ve been listening to!! 😃 Love you sisters!! 😘😘😘 - Hilary
